Environmental Protection Agency unveils Clean Power Plan
[Washington DC] In an effort to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 25-28% nationwide by 2030 the Obama administration’s EPA released its Clean Power Plan today. The plan mandates that states must adopt climate action plans in concurrence with the administration’s goal of GHG reductions in the electricity generation sector. Businesses across Massachusetts, where power plants already participate in a cap and trade system called the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative, have spoken out in favor of the rules, and where the private sector already has made substantial commitments towards emission reductions.
The Climate Action Business Association’s Michael Green released an article Tuesday in response to the EPA’s Clean Power Plan. Businesses support this plan to reduce emissions as it fuels a positive environment for growth. Read it here: Link
