Hello CABA Community,
Over the past two years, I have had the pleasure to be a part of the team that has built the Climate Action Business Association from the ground up. Starting with just one business in South Boston, we have grown to have the pleasure to work with our partners, businesses and leaders across the state. As we continue to grow, our dedication is now more important than ever.
In a recent speech, the City of Boston’s Chief of Energy and the Environment, Austin Blackmon, acknowledged that “every dollar spent today on climate action will prevent three times the cost in future risk”. Climate change poses a huge threat to the Commonwealth’s business community, it also provides us the opportunity to come together. Pooling our knowledge, experiences, and voices gives us the best chance to make a difference.
Our leadership currently faces some tough challenges. The growing threat of global warming is met with questions around our energy future. We have to make choices that balance our short term capabilities with the vision of what the future demands of us.
I am honored to work with such an amazing team and progressive business leaders across the state. My first ask is that if you have not already joined us, now is the time. We need more voices active in the discussion to help push for smart business solutions to the challenges that we face. If you are not directly a business owner, work with us to develop the relationships needed to help make a difference in your community.
In the coming months stay connected to our website, social media accounts, and newsletters to find ways to get plugged into the action and work with us to push for a more secure economic future in Massachusetts. We believe that our state is ready to lead on the issue of climate change and hope that you can join us with this mission.
We’ve set our goals high for the future and we believe that we can create the change we envision. With all of our hard work, businesses are redefining the debate on climate change and business responsibility here in Massachusetts. We ask that you support us. Without the help of of dedicated members, foundations, and individuals such as yourself, our work would not be possible.
