Tech Networks of Boston: Founded in 1994, Tech Networks of Boston (TNB) delivers people-oriented IT support and care through help desk, remote monitoring and maintenance, staff augmentation, onsite support, training and project IT services to non-profits and businesses in greater Boston with a focus on non-profit health care and human service providers. After operating a non-profit called Southie Trees that works to increase tree cover in South Boston for a number of years, TNB realized that planting trees would not be effective without global action to combat climate change.
“There are many rewards to entrepreneurship, but ample free time is not one of them. As I grew my business, I hired people to do what I no longer had time to do. I needed someone represent my business in the fight against climate change. In January 2013, Tech Networks of Boston became the first business to hire a Climate Action Liaison to advocate for policy solutions to protect our climate, create new jobs and stimulate economic growth. Together, we have formed a coalition to represent the voice of business in the climate change movement.”
